이 게임은 H. P. 러브크래프트 카툴루 신화에 기반을 두고 많은 요소들을 러브크래프트의 던위치 호러 와 인스마우스의 그림자에서 가져 왔습니다.
후속작인 얼음속의 죄수는 1995년에 출시 되었습니다만 직접적으로 이 게임에서 일어난 사건과 이어 지지는 않습니다.
